2012 National Challenge
Start Date - 16th April, 2012.
Number of Participants per team - 4 or 5 (fifth role is optional)
Four Functional Roles - Purchasing or Procurement, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and the optional 5th role is Team Coach
Time Required Per Week - Approx 2 hours
Commencing April 16, 2012, teams will for seven weeks (6 rounds) be challenged to make effective business decisions to make the fictional company, The Fresh Connection, as successful as possible. Once previously profitable, The Fresh Connection has through poor strategic and tactical decisions for the Value Chain slipped into a state of near financial ruin. Critical to success will be defining and implementing a business strategy, understanding the trade-offs that exist in the Value Chain, developing a structured communication process to guide weekly decision making, and understanding that to be successful in the simulation as well as in your company each functional silo needs to work together.
Your job as the management team of this ailing company: Make rapid changes to completely transform The Fresh Connection company ensuring that the Return on Investment (ROI) is as high as possible.

National Final - Wednesday 27 June, 2012
At the conclusion of seven weeks of open competition the teams that have made the smartest investment decisions, implemented the best strategy, and have subsequently achieved the highest ROI, will be invited to attend the National Final where Australia's best teams will be found. During one final day of intense competition to be proudly hosted by Supply Chain 2020 Conference, teams will come together to participate in 3 final iterations of the simulation whilst also having the opportunity to network with fellow leading professionals from around Australia.
